The Devilman TV show was developed around 1972, as en evolution of Mao Dante. It ran for 39 episodes,
with an additional retrospective episode that concluded the series run.

Episode I- Revival of The Demon Family
Production #1
Original Air Date- July 8, 1972
Young school boy Akira Fudo and his father travel to the Himalayas on vacation and his father is killed.
Akira is then possessed by Devilman in attempt to bring misery and torment to humans in Japan. He does
not count on falling in love with Miki Makimura and betrays the Demon Family. Taro Makimura pisses his
pants (a recurring event), Lord Zenon sends Henge to kill Devilman for betraying them, but fails.
Episode II- The Demon Bird Silene
Production #2
Original Air Date- July 15, 1972
Lord Zenon dispatches Silene to find out for certain if Devilman has betrayed the Demon Family. She disguises
herself as Miki and lures Akira to his doom. After wounding Devilman, Silene kidnaps Miki and attempts to kill
her. Devilman returns to save Miki and kills Silene.
Episode III- The Monster Geruge
Production #3
Original Air Date- July 29, 1972
Having suffered the loss of Henge and Silene, Zenon sends the slug demon Geruge to kill Devilman.
Taro pisses his pants, Geruge disguises himself as several different things in attempts to kill Devilman,
including a Samurai on a billboard. Devilman and Geruge eventually face off, and Devilman kills him by
luring him into the salt water of the sea.
Episode IV- The Devil General, Zannin
Production #4
Original Air Date- August 5, 1972
Zenon summons Zannin and commands him to go to Japan, wreak havoc and kill Devilman. He allows him to choose an
emmissary to assist him. Zannin chooses Betora, a bat like demon, and the two set off. Betora hypnotizes the
Makimura family(along with many townspeople) with his spider and attempts to kill Devilman, while Zannin spreads
terror elsewhere. Zannin kills Betora for his failure, and is given another chance by Zenon. Zannin summons Zoldoba
Episode V- The Sleeping Beauty, Zoldoba
Production #5
Original Air Date- August 12, 1972
Zenon sends the traitor Rita to Earth as bait for Devilman so that Zannin's new emissary, Zoldoba can kill him. Zoldoba dispatches
Himura the spy to watch Devilman. Himura challenges Akira to a motorcycle race which ends with Taro falling into a cave. the find
Rita encased in a frozen coffin, and Akira realizes Zenon is up to something. Dr. Makimura takes the frozen Rita back to his lab,
and Himura steals her and takes her to Zoldoba's palace, where she and Zannin wait for Devilman. Devilman arrives at the palace
to save Rita, only to find out that she was really Zoldoba. Zoldoba has already killed and eaten the real Rita. Devilman and Zoldoba
fight, and she gets the upperhand. Zoldoba sets fire to the palace and she and Zannin escape.
Episode VI- The Neck of Rockfel

Original Air Date- August 19, 1972
Zenon summons Rockfel to report to Zannin to assist in Killing Devilman. Rockfel is reluctant to work with Zannin but obeys.
He makes his appearance at the Subway, killing bystanders as he makes his way to the Makimura home where Dr. Makimura is
showing a 200 year old skull to some reporters. Dr. Makimura has the skull taken to an artist to reconstruct the skulls facial features.
Meanwhile Akira has trouble with Himura at every turn. Himura is up to something but Akira can't figure out what. The skull that
is being reconstructed grows eyes and floats away, only to return with a body attached and kills the artist. The body then makes
it's way to the city where it transforms into Rockfel and begins to wreak havoc at a baseball game that Taro and Miki are at.
Akira makes tracks to the game and transforms into Devilman to fight Rockfel. The two slug it out and Devilman kills Rockfel with the Devil-Beam.
Episode VII- The Horrible Dummy Master Zuru

Original Air Date- August 26, 1972
The demon Zuru is busy making voodoo like dolls that he uses to kill to humans when he is summoned by Zenon. He commands him
to make many dolls and destoy them, thereby killing the humans they are based on. One of these people dies in front of Miki.
Zuru dispatches Abiru to find out what Miki looks like so he can create a doll of her. Meanwhile Akira finds Miki in a room with Himura.
Himura is drawing a picture of Miki, which enrages a jealous Akira. Miki leaves with Himura, and is attacked outside by Abiru.
Akira sees this, and transforms. Before Devilman can get Abiru, he escapes with the drawing of Miki for Zuru to use. Zuru makes
the effigy, and soon begins punishing Miki. Abiru convinces Zuru to leave the doll alone and use it as bait against Devilman,
which of course Devilman takes. Devilman comes to the Himalayas, and fights with Abiru. After he has killed Abiru, he finds Zuru
and kills him. After killing him, Devilman seals the cave that the dolls are in forever.
Episode VIII-Iaymon and Bou
Production #8
Original Air Date- September 2, 1972
The Demon Iaymon is summoned to kill Miki. Her brother Bou lies in wait as she goes to complete her task. Iaymon disguises herself
as a student and hypnotizes the class. When everyone is out, she begins to bleed Miki's life, but is stopped by the bell and a flood
of students. But the job was done enough for Miki to be under her curse and is now dying. Akira figures it out and goes to save Miki.
He catches Iaymon in the act and transforms. The two fight and Devilman captures her, but not before she can summon her brother Bou.
He tortures Iaymon to try to save Miki, and Bou arrives to save his sister. The two fight, Bou falls to Devilman freeing his sister
as he dies. Devilman then fights Iaymon one last time, killing her with the Devil-Beam and lifting the curse on Miki.
Episode IX- The Brainwave Monster Gondorama

Original Air Date- September 9, 1972
Zenon summons Gondorama to uses his Brain control powers to destroy. He begins this by possessing a rat, which Taro buys in a pet
store. Taro brings it home where it tries to kill him, and Akira kills it enraging Miki. Using this to his advantage, Himura moves in
and gets Miki a cat. Gondorama has possessed the cat, and it tries to kill Miki. Akira foils it, and chases the cat leading him to
Gondorama's trap. Gondorama unsuccesfully tries to kill Akira, then possesses many animals to attack everyone. Akira goes after
Gondorama, who tries to hypnotize Akira into killing, but Akira blocks it. He then transforms into Devilman, combat ensues and Gondorama
is killed.
Episode X- The Monster Gande- The Walking Eye
Production #14
Original Air Date- September 16, 1972
Zenon summons Gande, who along with Ganda, and Gandai are three singles eyed demons in one body. Thinking ahead, Gande has already
left to kill Devilman. A one cyclops demon disguised as a Postman delivers a box to the Makimura home, and Taro opens it.
In it is a floating eye, that causes Taro to piss himself. The eye disappears into the wall of the house. At dinner, the eye
appears in Akira's soup and attacks. The eye materializes as Ganda and Akira fights her. The eye then appears at school and
challenges Akira. Devilman kills the body, but Ganda's eye gets away. During a school trip to a museum, the complete Gande appears
and Akira transforms. Gande and his siblings seperate, and all challenge Devilman. He kills the eyes, and bodies sending them to Hell.
Episode XI- The Red Monster Flower Rahureru

Original Air Date- September 23, 1972
Zenon summons Rahureru to go to Zannin to help kill Devilman. She begins her spree by killing random humans, and almost killing
the Makimuras and Akira while driving. Akira recognizes her, and chases her to the sewer. She splits into three demons and teases
Akira before escaping. Akira transforms, and goes to get her but hears Miki scream. Her father has been struck by lightning, and
they rush him to the hospital. Miki blames her father's condition on Akira and enraged he leaves. While out, he encounters Himura
and as Akira rides away, Himura is seen talking to Rahureru. At school, Himura challenges Akira and as they begin to fight, Rahureru
erupts from the swimming pool causing an earthquake and flood. Miki falls in to the crater, and Akira dives after her. At the
bottom, they are surrounded by Rahureru's multiple bodies, and Miki is put to sleep by her mist. Akira blocks it, and transforms
into Devilman. Rahureru shows her true form, and the two fight. Devilman kills her, and as her remaining leaves float in the river,
Himura picks one up and vows revenge. Akira wakes up Miki, who tells Akira that she heard Devilman and that they should thank him
for saving their lives.
Episode XII- The Fire Monster Faiamu

Original Air Date- September 30, 1972
Zenon summons Faiamu, a small demon child to gather Akyura, a two headed demon dragon and take him to Zannin. Faiamu doesn't want to
to go to Zannin (seems no demon wants to work with him). But he obeys Zenon's order, and goes to the Devil General. While on the
way, Faiamu sets fire to an oil refinery. Zannin uses Akyura to destroy the city, and cause much chaos. During the night Faiamu
sneaks Akyura out to play, and Zannin becomes rather angry and starts beating little Faiamu. Hurt and angry, Faiamu starts setting
random fires. Akira sees this but can't transform because Taro and Miki are right next to him. So he has to knock them both out so
he can change. Devilman then chases down Zannin and Akyura. Devilman fights and kills Akyura, and Zannin jumps to the advantage.
Faiamu feels bad for Devilman because he likes him, and causes a giant oil tank to roll into Zannin freeing Devilman. Zannin escapes
and Faiamu falls into the water. The tank explodes, and the next morning Taro, Miki, and Akira wake up in a crater shaped like Devilman.
Episode XIII- The Arrogant Mameimu

Original Air Date- October 7, 1972
Zenon sends Mameimu to work with Zannin to kill Devilman. Like the ones before her, she too hates Zannin and causes him grief
while going to kill Devilman and get glory for herself. She becomes a giant wave of water and attacks the Makimuras at the beach.
Akira and Miki wake up in a giant oyster, and Miki is quickly swallowed up by the creature inside. Akira transforms, and kills
the oyster demon by slicing it open with his wings. Mameimu causes a Tsunami to hit the city, and Devilman chases her down to save
the other Makimuras. While Devilman is saving the Makimuras, Zannin finds Miki on the cliff where Devilman left her. He forces
her off the edge onto the beach below. Zannin escapes leaving Miki for dead, and Akira finds her. She touches Akira's face and
falls limp.
Episode XIV- Challenge To The Ice Kingdom

Original Air Date- October 14, 1972
Miki is rushed to the hospital in an attempt to save her life. Akira while sitting in the waiting area vows to kill Zenon, and all of
the demon clan. He blames himself for all of her misery, and flashes back through every previous demon encounter becoming angrier
with each one. The doctor comes out to say she will live, and with new purpose, Akira rushes to the Himalayas to kill the demons.
Himura sees him leave as he transforms into Devilman. Devilman arrives at the Himalayas to find the glacier empty. Himura shows up
and reveals that he is Zannin's spy sent to track Devilman. Himura then transforms, Zannin appears and they all fight. Devilman
kills Himura, and then defeats Zannin. Right before Zannin dies, he tells Devilman that Zenon dispatched all of the demon clan to
destroy the world and Devilman can't stop them all. Zannin then falls into the glacier and it closes up.
Episode XV-The Monster Ebain Having A Thousand Hands

Original Air Date- October 21, 1972
A rash of hallucinations in which people see a woman’s face in their mirror overtakes the city. Immediately following the vision,
they lose control of one of their arms, and the arm attempts to strangle them. Akira has a suspicion it is the demon Ebain. He witnesses
Taro being possessed at school, and after seeing Ebain’s face in the mirror on the wall, he smashes it setting her loose. Before Akira
can catch her, she escapes and returns to Muzan. Muzan gives her a special key to lock Akira into the mirror world and defeat Devilman.
Ebain attacks Akira at home and lures him into the mirror world, locking him in. He transforms into Devilman, and fights Ebain’s 1,000 arms.
He is able to defeat Ebain using the Devil-beam, breaking the mirror spell and returns to his world.
Episode XVI- The Monster Jeni Living In The Dark

Original Air Date- October 28, 1972
Many people are watching a shower of shooting stars. A mysterious red star is witnessed only by the children, and leaves them in a hypnotic
state. During their sleep, the demon Jeni comes to them and beckons to her at midnight the following night. Akira noticing he is the only one
not affected by the strange trance the other children are under begins to suspect a demon at work. Later that night, at the stroke of midnight,
Jeni returns in the dreams of the children to summon them to her. Akira follows them, as they arrive at a lake. Jeni appears and commands
them to walk into the water in order to drown themselves. Akira interrupts the mass suicide and transforms into Devilman. The two battle,
and Jeni tangles Devilman in her flowing hair. As he is pulled close to her face, he shoots the Devil-beam and kills her. The children are freed
from their trance and return home.
Episode XVII- The Stamp Monster Dagon

Original Air Date- November 4, 1972
A traveling storyteller arrives to frighten the children with ghost tales. He begins by passing out stamps to them, each printed with the image
of various demons. He soon begins telling his tale of the demon Dagon, and his master Muzan of the demon clan. Akira watching intently
sees the pictures the storyteller is using and recognizes them. The storyteller notices Akira, and realizes he has been found out. He makes
for a quick escape and Akira gives chase but loses him. Later that night, the stamps that were passed out begin to come alive. The demons
erupt from them and begin to attack people. Akira pursues the demons, and soon finds Dagon. He transforms into Devilman, and fights
Dagon soon killing him and bringing an end to the demon attack.
Episode XVIII- The Silver Moyako

Original Air Date- November 11, 1972
A coffee shop girl named Moyako is reputed to have such beauty that she mesmerizes any man she looks in the eye. Akira soon falls into
her trap, but is able to realize that is a demon charm. That night Akira witnesses two boys fighting each other. He discovers that the two
boys are possessed and once spotting the demon responsible chases it away. The demon leaves a sticky trail that Akira follows back to
the coffee shop. Moyako is busy seducing every boy she can including young Taro. Akira has been tracking her and finally catches her
in her true form, the demon Memu. Akira quickly becomes Devilman, and the two face off. Memu soon falls in battle to Devilman and
her love charms are broken.
Episode XIX- The Monster Adaru

Original Air Date- November 18, 1972
Taro has a horrible day and decides to run away from home. He runs to a junkyard where two men are unloading a truckload of mannequins.
He goes over to them and they come alive and attack him. Taro pees his pants and passes out. Akira and Miki find him and take him back
home. The mannequins return and attack Taro in his sleep, making him think he has killed Miki. This makes Taro so sad that he decides to
run away from home again. He seeks shelter at Miyo’s home. Akira goes out to look for him, and encounters the mannequin army and fights
them. He spots the demon controlling them, and goes after him but cannot catch him. The demon imitates Miyo and tries to get Taro to kill
himself by jumping in front of a train. Devilman discovers the identity of the demon, Adaru and kills him putting an end to the plot. After
Adaru’s death all of the possessed mannequins that he has placed throughout the world simultaneously catch fire.
Episode XX- Goodbye, Monster Dorango

Original Air Date- November 25, 1972
A demon has caused a massive car accident, and Akira arrives just in time to see him making his escape. Akira is unable to catch him, so
he continues on to school. When he gets there, he encounters a new student named Tomota and is immediately suspicious. He challenges
him to a fight after school as a test. The two have their fight, and it leaves Akira even more suspicious after seeing Tomota in action. Even
more curious is that since Tomota’s arrival, people have been frozen in a strange ice and while Akira is investigating he is frozen also. The
demon Dorango reveals himself and attempts to kill but cannot do it. It turns out that Devilman was his only friend in the demon clan and
he also sympathizes with the humans. He returns to Muzan who beats him for failing to kill Devilman. Muzan tells him that if he does not
kill Devilman, that he will be killed for turning traitor. Dorango returns in disguise as Tomota, and kidnaps Miki. Devilman comes to rescue
Miki and he and Dorango battle. Devilman tries to allow Dorango to escape as he does not want to kill his friend, but Dorango continues
to fight. Reluctantly, Devilman must kill him in order to save Miki and the others who have been encased in Dorango’s ice.
Episode XXI- The Monster Dora

Original Air Date- December 2, 1972
Muzan summons the demon Dora to go to the humans and eat every one that he can. He begins by hiding in a painter’s bucket that just
happens to be going to Akira’s school to paint. Once there, Dora eats the painter. Abe finds the painter’s head on the ladder and blood
all over the walls in the Principal’s office. Dora then splits himself up and hides in the water pipes. A garden hose later sprays him out, and
each piece grows and begins attacking students. Akira comes to the rescue, and Dora escapes to the roof. Akira transforms into Devilman
and he and Dora fight on the roof. Devilman burns him with the Devil-beam, but he escapes again. He later reappears in the rain and attacks
and eats everyone the rain touches. Devilman soon finds him to continue the battle. He leads Dora to an active volcano and traps him in the
crater. He uses the Devil-beam to trigger an eruption that burns Dora alive.
Episode XXII- The Monster Muga-ru The Magician

Original Air Date- December 9, 1972
Several people witness Akira pushing Miki into the river. The next morning the police arrive at the Makimura home to question Akira. He
quickly recognizes it as a demon trap, and flees to find the real culprit behind Miki’s disappearance. The trail soon leads back to the
school, as the Principal and Abe were two witnesses. While Akira is there, Muzan appears and taunts him. He transforms attacks, but
Muzan vanishes. Akira goes back to hunting for Miki and soon sees her walking alone and in a trance. She turns out to be an illusion,
but the real Miki is soon found as bait for Devilman. Akira takes the bait and transforms. Muga-ru is waiting and uses his power to produce
multiple versions of himself. Devilman quickly discovers the real demon and quickly dispatches him using the Devil-beam. The next morning
he returns Miki home and in one piece.
Episode XXIII- The Tibetan Monster Bera

Original Air Date- December 16, 1972
Professor Makimura leaves to go on a trip to Tibet. Little does everyone know, Taro has stowed himself on board the plane. When this is
discovered, Akira and Miki travel to retrieve him. At the same time, Muzan has sent the demon Bera to the villages to possess the body
of a recently deceased man and use him to spread chaos. She possesses the man, reanimating him and soon goes after his wife as well.
The two then set about possessing and killing the other villagers, and before too long Akira and his companions. Akira is able to escape
and transform into Devilman. He soon finds Bera and does battle killing her with the Devil-beam. After saving the Makimura’s they all
return safely to Japan.
Episode XXIV- The Monster Jakon The Living Ghost

Original Air Date- December 23, 1972
Muzan summons the demon Jukon and commands him to steal souls of humans. His first victim is Akira’s schoolmate Todaiji. When
Akira, Miki and Chiako go to Todaiji’s home to check on him, Akira sees Jukon and goes after him. Jukon eludes capture and goes
on steal the soul of their teacher Abe causing a huge car accident. This causes a chain reaction, and results in Chiako losing her soul
to Jukon as well. Jukon commands her to now kill Abe, and she goes to the hospital to do so. Akira races to find Jukon to break his
spell before anyone dies. He eventually finds Jukon and soon kills him breaking the spell he held over everyone.
Episode XXV- The Devil General Muzan Attacks the School

Original Air Date- December 30, 1972
Muzan goes to Akira’s school and uses his power to trap it in another dimension, locking all of the students inside. As Akira is trying to
find a way to get through to rescue Miki, Muzan appears and tells Akira that unless he surrenders his life to him, Miki and the others
will be trapped forever and die. Akira tricks Muzan before he can carry out this plan, and as Devilman finds a way through the barrier,
using Taro as a diversion. Angered, Muzan follows Devilman in and the two clash. Muzan is defeated but before Devilman can kill him,
he kills himself for the shame he has brought upon the demon clan with his failure. This releases the hold on the school and it’s students,
returning them to their own time.
Episode XXVI- The Silver Monster Lala

Original Air Date- January 6, 1973
Akira, Miki, Taro and Miyo are on a trip to the mountains to ski. On the way, a floating female outside the train terrifies the other
passengers. Akira goes to investigate and realizes it is the demon Lala but lets her go. When they arrive, they soon learn that there
has been a rash of murders, and the newest body is being led out by ambulance. As it turns out, the demon Dodoh is the murderer,
and Lord Zenon has sent Lala to urge him not to engage Devilman but continue on his mission of murdering humans, Dodoh of course
does not listen, and the next day sets a trap for Devilman. Once they have captured him, Dodoh disguises himself as Akira and he and
Lala head back to the group to kill them. Dodoh leads them to a secluded area of the mountain to kill them, but Lala inadvertently
causes and avalanche that also sets Devilman free. He arrives to rescue his friends, and kills Dodoh. He does not kill Lala though,
and calls the authorities to send her to an asylum.
Episode XXVII- The Monster Jueru- Desire Beyond Limits

Original Air Date- January 13, 1973
Lord Zenon summons the Devil Marshall Reikoku to replace the fallen Muzan and spread chaos and death. To do this, she employs
the demon Jueru and dispatches him to Earth in the form of millions of rings and jewels. This causes the humans to go mad with
greed and they soon turn on one another. Meanwhile, Lala escapes but is soon caught by Akira. He chases her into a sewer, but
before he can catch her he encounters Jueru in his true form. He transforms into Devilman and the two fight, and Jueru gains the
upper hand. Before he can kill Devilman, Lala disguises herself as Devilman and tricks Jueru long enough for Devilman to mount
an offense and kill him.
Episode XXVIII- The Monster Miniyon- The Devil Locket
Production #28
Original Air Date- January 20, 1973
Reikoku send the demon Miniyon to use his power on the humans by shrinking them to a miniature size making it easier to kill them.
Lala who thinks that Akira saved her because he loves her is stalking him daily. These two paths cross when Akira is trying to get
rid of Lala, Miniyon shows up and shrinks him. He then shrinks Lala as well and attempts to kill them both. Akira transforms and
soon, mini-Devilman kills Miniyon and returning to full size. Lala once again thinks that she is alive because Akira loves her and
continues stalking him much to Miki’s dismay.
